Booking Information - Please read before registering

The day is aimed at teachers of mathematics at Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.

A free CPD event for teachers of mathematics at Key Stages 2, 3, and 4 who are interested in developing resilient learners in their classrooms.

Whether your students are breezing through every problem you give them, or struggling at every turn, they may not be developing the resilience they need to become independent problem solvers.
How would we like our students to respond to being stuck, and how can we best support them in a way that doesn’t make them become dependent on us?

NRICH tasks have always helped to develop mathematical thinking and promote mathematical exploration. In our latest project, we have created tasks designed to capture students’ interest so that they have a desire to persevere even when the going gets tough. Our supporting materials for teachers suggest ways of scaffolding the activities without spoon-feeding.

This event will offer opportunities to work on some of the tasks and discuss the implications for classroom practice.

Please note: Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.
